AgE of Sigmar Beginners League
Victory Gamers is launching league play, starting with a league geared for new and beginner-level players in the winter/spring of 2024. This Beginners League will start in January 2024 and go through June 2024. It will play on the third Sunday of each month, 1-6 pm, at the Board Room restaurant/bar in Arlington, VA, where the club rents gaming space. The league is designed for friendly competition and to encourage new players. Stephen D. will be an event organizer, and other club members are welcome to volunteer to be event organizers.
How to Participate
Sign up to play using this SignUp Genius page: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4DA8A72EA4FA7-46351065-ageofsigmar. There will be space for up to three two-player games (six players maximum per day). You do not have to play every league event, although regular participation will increase chances of winning the league. Results are tracked per player, not by army or faction, so a player can bring a different list or faction each time, in order to experiment or just to play with new toys.
Army Construction
The league will begin at 1500 point games and increase to 2000 point games. Army construction will use the Matched Play rules of the Core Book (Contest of Generals Battlepack). The Generals Handbook will NOT be used. A different army and faction can be taken for every game. There is no need to submit lists prior to games, but players are responsible for the legality of their lists.
Game Play
Missions will be selected and announced by the event organizers on the day of play, and all games will play the mission each day. Missions will be selected primarily from the three Core Book Contest of Generals missions (Frontal Assault, Burn and Pillage, and Rising Power). Player match ups will be made on the day of play, so players must arrive by 1 pm in order to allow for pairings to be made. In the event of no shows, the event organizer will play in order to even the numbers. Only one game per day will be played in order to ensure completion of games even with new players. There are mats and terrain stored at the Board Room, but players are welcome to bring their own terrain and mats if they wish. There are no paint requirements for the league, in order to encourage new players and models, but awesomely painted armies will be appreciated and held in high esteem.
Winning the League
A leader board will be posted on this website. At the end of each game, players should report their result to the event organizer in order to be logged into the leader board. A win is worth 3 points, a tie is worth 2 points, and a loss is worth 1 point. There will be recognition of the results at the end of the league.
