Here is the latest on events and activities that are in the works. If you are interested in participating, send an email to Victory Gamers using the email form on the "Find a Game" page.
That's a lot of gaming opportunities, with more to come. Hope you can join in on the fun!
- Star Wars Imperial Assault. Looking for players to start a seven game campaign. This is a super fun board/miniature game by Fantasy Flight that is set in the Star Wars universe after the destruction of the first Death Star. There is a good overview of the game available here. Several slots are already taken, but there is room for a few more. If you like Star Wars and miniature gaming, you will want to try this game out! First game of the campaign is being scheduled now, likely for mid-August.
- Dropzone Commander. An escalation league is being set up to start in September. I have been following this game for a long time, so I am super excited to start playing. During the summer, there will be in-store demonstrations at Victory Comics. The first demo will be on Sunday, June 26th, at 3-6 pm. I will bring the starter box and the expansion "Reconquest" supplemental rulebook to Victory Comics for anyone to explore the models, the rules, and the terrain. A demo game is currently being scheduled. Watch this website for more information!
- 40k/Age of Sigmar Youth League. Victory Gamers is starting a youth league this September! The league will introduce kids to the world of miniature wargaming and hobbying. The target age group is 10-16 year olds, but can be older or younger. The league will play Warhammer 40K and the new Warhammer Age of Sigmar in a way that is accessible to kids, from a perspective of both time and money. There will be campaign and organized play, as well as painting and terrain building. If you know a boy or girl that would be interested in joining the fun, have his or her parents contact Victory Gamers for more details.
- Warhammer 40k Adult Gaming Group. We are looking for players for an adult Warhammer 40k gaming group. Players of all types are encouraged to join. If there is sufficient interest, a campaign can be played, such as Sanctus Reach or Shield of Baal. We probably won't be sponsoring general tournaments, since our friends at Huzzah Hobbies in Ashburn already schedule RTTs every month. But we may have thematic tournaments on occasion (see Orktoberfest below).
- Orktoberfest. This ork-only mini 40K tournament is still being planned for this October. Tournament rules are being completed and will be posted on this website by July 18. If you think you've got what it takes to be the boss nob, bring your boyz to the table (no soft 'humies, beakies, or pointy-eared space elfs allowed!). Sign up details to follow the posting of the rules. Hopefully GW won't drop a new ork codex before then, but the way GW is churning out material nowadays you never know....
